Zero tolerance
Generation LightMode (also called Gen Lux), published by ECD Adventist, has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM). It is prohibited everywhere in the app, in every form.
What is prohibited
The following is never allowed in posts, comments, statuses, messages, profile photos, names or any other content: - Any content that sexualises, exploits, degrades or endangers a child or young person under 18. - Child sexual abuse material, in any form, including images, video, text or links to it. - Grooming: contacting a minor to build trust for sexual or exploitative purposes. - Sexual solicitation of, or sexualised conversation with, a minor. - Sharing or requesting a minor's personal details (home address, phone number, school, location) in a way that puts them at risk. - Sextortion, trafficking, or any attempt to arrange the abuse of a child. These rules are part of our public Community Guidelines (rule 2, Protecting children and young people), which every member agrees to.
How we prevent it
- Posts and other content are screened automatically against our guidelines. Child safety is our most serious category and is escalated above all others. - Members can use Report on any post or comment. Reports go straight to our moderation team and are anonymous to the person reported. - Content reported by several different members is hidden immediately while a person reviews it. - Our moderation team can remove content and suspend accounts at any time.
What happens when we find it
- The content is removed straight away. - The account is suspended. - Where the law requires it, the case is reported to the relevant authorities.
How to report a concern
In the app, tap Report on the post or comment. You can also email our child safety contact at info@generationlightmode.org. If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. You can also report suspected child sexual abuse material to your national hotline, the Internet Watch Foundation (report.iwf.org.uk) or the NCMEC CyberTipline (report.cybertip.org).
